Nine Days of whitewater adventure, friendship, leadership, safety, and fun!
Thanks to The Jez for his work putting together and sharing this video!
Falling Creek Camp is excited to offer this 9-day opportunity, open to a small number of boys ages 13 to 17, who want to paddle some of the best whitewater in the southeast while focusing on safety, leadership, and skill improvement.
The trip is lead by Jez Blanchard, World Cup Freestyle Champion, three time world cup event winner, Australian Rafting Team member, five time National Champion, and Team Jackson Kayak member. He has co-produced films through Skippy Films and has instructed whitewater kayaking in both the USA and Australia for over a decade. Jez has been a Falling Creek counselor for the past three summers.
Two Falling Creek paddling counselors will help lead the trip, in addition to guest appearances by some professional athletes from the Jackson Kayak Team.
Andrew Holcombe was a part of the HUCK team this summer. He is on Team Dagger Kayaks, a 3-time US Men's Team member, won the silver medal at 2003 World Championships, numerous top three finishes in Freestyle Events and Extreme Races, and several extreme first descents. Andrew is featured in numerous kayak videos, and has been a part of extreme expeditions throughout the world. He is part of the 'YGP' crew and 'Tribe Riders' pro team. Andrew is a head instructor at the Nantahala Outdoor Center and has kayaked on every continent (except for Antarctica).
Campers will also have lessons in High Definition video camera use as the group produces their own DVD documenting the trip.
