Spring Weekends
Imagine you and your dad spending an action-filled weekend in the mountains of Western North Carolina! Do you like to climb? What about canoeing? Shooting a rifle? Have you ever tried a zipline? Do you like to relax and go fishing or play ping-pong and foosball?
These are just some of the activities that you will get to participate in at Falling Creek's annual Father / Son Weekends.
Accommodations will be provided in our rustic cabins. Each cabin has electricity and a bathroom. You will be grouped with one or more other families with similar aged boys. Or you may request to be in a cabin with another family you already know. Meals are served 'family style' in our dining hall.
The weekends are open to new and returning families. Plan to arrive Friday evening and stay until lunch Sunday.
Be a part of this Falling Creek tradition! Contact the camp office for more information.
B.A.M. Weekend
The B.A.M. weekend is offered during our Spring 2 Weekend, Friday May 21st to Sunday the 23rd.
B.A.M is for a father and one son, age 11-16.
Partnering with families to help boys develop into strong, healthy men is the mission of Falling Creek. A critical part of this journey is the relationship a son has with his father.
Falling Creek has teamed with B.A.M. Adventures (Becoming A Man, Inc.) to offer an exciting opportunity available to fathers and sons on May 21 - 23rd, 2010. The weekend is designed to help each father and son foster a deeper, more meaningful relationship.
What really builds the relationship is when father and son do things together, particularly outdoors working side by side. It creates an adventure that empowers the son and delights the dad. The best place to create that adventure is at Falling Creek!
All of the activities during the weekend revolve around three principles:
- To strengthen the bond between father and son
- To empower the son
- To create adventure!
B.A.M. co-founders John and Drew Brantley have specifically designed a discussion guide to utilize during the weekend. Private one-on-one conversations between father and son will create the environment for positive affirmation, open and honest communication, and support. Plus, it will provide a healthy structure for both the son and father to discuss what they need from each other. John and Drew, along with longtime Falling Creek staff member, Dusty Davis, will facilitate this transformational weekend.
