Will Wilson
Outdoor Adventure Director
Will grew up in western North Carolina, exploring the mountains and finding his passion for the outdoors at a young age. Growing up, he was involved in a program called The American Adventure Service Corps (TAASC), based out of Morganton, NC.
He started his career in adventure education by working as a zipline guide in high school, and since then he has continued to hone his skills in every corner of the outdoor adventure industry. Will has worked as a raft guide for USA Raft, a paddling instructor for Falling Creek in 2019, an instructor for REI with a focus in kayaking and rock climbing, and was the founder and program director of the TAASC program in Brevard, NC.
Along the way, Will has also collected an impressive number of highly skilled certifications. These include his status as a Wilderness First Responder, ACA LVL 4 whitewater kayak instructor, AMGA single pitch instructor, and Red Cross First Aid / WFA / CPR / AED instructor. In 2018 he also completed a 50 day Leader Development Course through Outward Bound.
As you might guess, most of his hobbies relate to the outdoors - especially rock climbing, kayaking, caving, backpacking, and expedition canoeing. He also loves playing jazz percussion and making pottery.
Email WillSince working in adventure education for over a decade I have never worked for a program that offered such high quality instruction as Falling Creek. I’ve never worked for another program that has taken participants down class V rapids, multi pitch climbing, and offered the level of adventure that FCC offers to its campers. I grew so much as an instructor while working at FCC and I hope to help others develop their passions and skills the way I did while working here. The sense of community and support felt at FCC is absolutely unmatched in my experience.
