The Spirit of Giving

Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. -Luke 6:38

Donate Online

We as the alumni, parents, grandparents, staff, and friends of Falling Creek have an exciting chance to live out that giving spirit by donating funds to any of three tax-deductible scholarships that directly benefit Falling Creek campers and staff members. Gifts may be made online or by mailing a check. Please contact the camp office for more information regarding stocks or securities gifts and any other questions. The details on each are as follows.

“It is an absolute privilege to give back to Falling Creek by supporting the Campership fund. Being a counselor at Falling Creek was the best job I ever had! Being part of the camp community, making friends that have lasted a lifetime, learning leadership from campers and counselors alike, and having the chance to help campers gain skills and self-confidence all helped shape me into the person I am today. Camp has done the same for many, many others. It would be great if even more had the opportunity.

Having one of our sons spend years as both camper and counselor, and seeing camp’s impact on his life, further reinforces to me the place camp should have in every child’s life. My wife, Cindy, emphasizes from her perspective as a pediatrician the effect that positive childhood experiences have in the development of physically and emotionally healthy adults. And there is no more positive childhood experience than Falling Creek Camp.

So, for us, there is no better cause, and no better place, to give back and give forward!”

As a former camper, I know how important and rewarding a summer camp experience can be for a young boy. The excellence of the program and staff allows Falling Creek to run one of the finest camps in the country. To the extent this opportunity can be extended to those who might not otherwise have the opportunity, all of us will benefit in the long run.

Western North Carolina Counties Campership

In 1992 a scholarship fund was established by Director Emeritus Chuck McGrady through the Community Foundation of Henderson County. This scholarship allows boys from several western North Carolina counties to attend Falling Creek, who otherwise would be unable to do so.

The opportunity that Falling Creek presents for boys as they transition into adults and leaders is one that is incredibly valuable. You learn from your failures and your successes and camp allows for smart chances to be taken and thus growth happens. I think having the opportunity to share this opportunity with as many as possible is incredibly important.

It Only Takes A Spark Fund

This exciting grant program awards Falling Creek staff members who demonstrate a “Servant’s Heart,” the resources, and support to positively impact others beyond the summer months. Former FCC staffers have started ministries to help fathers and sons develop strong relationships based on Christian principles; provided much-needed school supplies to hundreds of impoverished children in rural South Carolina; supported the American Adventure Service Corps; and helped underprivileged families in Honduras to receive basic health care, construct homes, and strengthen their Christian faith.

The selection committee awards funding from $250 - $2,500 per project for various work around the world. The fund is set up through a partnership with The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina.
