This past weekend, Falling Creek had several Alumni and current staff members compete in the first annual Green River Games. The venue was the Green River game lands, a rugged 10,000 acre patch of Wilderness on the Henderson and Polk county line. Several Falling Creekers, including Andrew O’Neil, Greg Garrard, Chris “Sleepy” Young, Zach Fraysier, and Stephen McGrady, competed in the “Silverback”, a multi –sport race that the race officials are calling as “possibly the most difficult multi-sport event in the world”. The Silverback was the signature race involving the completion of three continuous and sequential disciplines: whitewater kayaking, mountain biking and trail running.. The racers paddled the upper, narrows, and lower sections of the green river, then mountain biked 8 miles, and then ran on rugged trails for 8 miles. Congratulations guys! Trey Knight competed in the SUP (stand up paddle board) race on the upper and lower sections of the green and paddled away with the WIN! Check out more event info on their facebook page.
