I love that we get international staff here. I think that it really brings in a variety of different perspectives and different aspects of culture that we really just haven’t experienced. And it’s especially valuable for our campers I think, to kind of get that international perspective, because it makes them a more worldly person in an increasingly globalized kind of world.

Coming to the US through Falling Creek was very easy. I remember I was very nervous. It was my first time here in the US, and then they picked me up in the airport and I felt so comfortable right away. Actually, something that surprised me a lot is to see how many people were like, oh, I speak a little bit of Spanish, and they were trying to practice with me and I really liked that because it made me feel very welcome and at the same time made me feel more confident with my English. There’s also more people here from Mexico, from the UK, New Zealand, & Columbia, so there’s a lot of cultural diversity here. When I have some free time between my schedule, I do like to join different activities and hang out, and also learn new stuff, which is a very cool opportunity. When I looked at pictures of camp it looked very beautiful, but being here is so different because it’s even better. It’s very beautiful.
