Camp may feel like the perfect mix of happy chaos balanced by organized control, but Control vs. Chaos was also the name of last night’s Evening Program!

During dinner announcements…

a crazed unicorn and his minions took over and CHAOS reigned! Would the campers be able to take back CONTROL of camp?

The Green and Gold camper teams went head-to-head against the staff, trying to take as many of the staff’s flag belts as they could to regain control of camp. Meanwhile, the staff were trying to perpetuate the chaos by taking camper flag belts!

Each staff member also had three “Chaos Cards” to give to the first three Sorrels (the youngest campers) who pulled their flag belts. These cards are worth 3 staff belts each! A few Chaos Cards were also hidden around camp, for any campers to find and turn in for points at Headquarters.

“Control Headquarters” for the campers was at Morning Watch, while “Chaos Headquarters” for the staff was at the Turf Field. If your belt got pulled you could return to your headquarters to get a new one and jump back in the game.

Meanwhile… there were 5 “Super Wrestlers”, or staff guarding the “Chaos Headquarters”. They wore all five flag belt colors, and were invincible! They couldn’t have their flag belts pulled, but were able to pull the flag belts of campers, who had to watch out if they went close to the Chaos Headquarters!

Other Highlights From Tuesday:

In pottery, they created “botanical compositions” using leaves, pine needles, cones, and other natural materials. First they went on a walk to gather the materials, then they made a slab of clay using the press, and made imprints in the slab using the nature elements. They could then shape that “nature tile” into clay creations like a small vase or tray!
