It's not camp without some crazy announcements in the Dining Hall!

Good morning from Falling Creek!

It was a great first full day of June Camp yesterday. After breakfast, boys headed to their first activities of the session! They also had their first two “free choice periods” of the summer, where they can choose to spend their time doing things like:

Ring the bell! At camp, the bell guides our day, so there's no need to check your watch!
  • swimming at the lake
  • playing foosball, ping pong, cards, or Warrior Ball around the Dining Hall
  • playing tennis or pickleball
  • playing basketball at the gym
  • spending time on the turf field
  • or playing in the “Thunder Dungeon” (the enclosed turf field under the gym)

Here’s the “what” and “where” of everything that was announced after breakfast, so boys knew what choices they had if they wanted to do something other than their activity schedule.

With preps going on in all 4 outdoor adventure activities, blacksmithing, sailing, fly fishing, and horseback signups, there was a lot to choose from!

The rope swing takes bravery for many boys!

Each week of the summer has a different theme, which helps guide Evening Embers, Campfire, and Church discussions. This week’s theme is “Bravery”, since “living with courage” is one of the tenets of Warrior Spirit in the Falling Creek Code.

The first group of cabins headed out on their Cabin Overnights last night, and returned this morning before breakfast!

What are cabin overnights like? You can read more in this blog from last summer!

For those that weren’t going on overnights yet, Evening Program was split up by Cabin Lines!

Robinia and Betula combined for some competitive dodgeball matches - the campers beat the counselors!

Energy was high at the swim docks as Sorrel and Tsuga united for a dock party. Everyone enjoyed the zip line, roller coaster, and inner tubes. Bean the counselor wowed everyone with his impressive diving skills from the high-dive!

We’re looking forward to all that today holds!
