June Camp is finally here!

We were so happy to finally be able to welcome parents into camp, shake hands, and show you around in-person. We hope that you had safe travels back after Opening Day yesterday morning.

Here are the highlights from the rest of the day after you all started heading back home:

Sorrel and Tsuga played games on the tennis courts!

  • The fun began immediately! after settling into their cabins, boys split off to play games with the rest of their Cabin Lines. Sorrel and Tsuga met on the tennis courts, while Robinia and Betula met on the landsports field.
  • We met as a whole camp community for a Welcome Meeting at Morning Watch
  • For lunch, we enjoyed fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, warm rolls, a salad bar with many choices, and apple turnovers for desert.

  • In the afternoon, we rotated through a series of activities, including a camp tour, health check, swim check, and cabin photos.
  • Boys signed up for their 6 daily activities, but additionally have the opportunity each day to leave that schedule behind to join a “special signup.” These could be single or multi day adventure trips off property, or longer activities like sailing, fly fishing, or blacksmithing.

Each cabin took a serious photo… and a silly one!

  • Finally, we refueled with a dinner of spaghetti with meatballs, broccoli, salad bar, garlic bread, and homemade lemon cake for dessert.
  • Evening Program was a Life-Sized Board Game, where 2 cabin groups moved together to different areas in camp to enjoy the game style “task challenges” at each location. The winner earned credits to bring back to the home base in the end for their Green or Gold team.
  • We finished with Opening Campfire to wind down a big day.

These blogs will be posted each morning on our website at fallingcreek.com/blog, sharing a few highlights about the previous day’s fun.

Blogs this summer will usually be photo-based with some brief bullet-point details, but will occasionally be short vlog style videos instead, or short stories about a specific event or trip.

You can subscribe to our blog if you’d like, so that each post gets delivered to your email inbox. We also encourage you to check out our daily posts on our Instagram site (@fallingcreek) and on Falling Creek Camp’s facebook page.

Daily photos will be uploaded each morning by lunchtime, reflecting photos taken the day before.

You can also stay connected with our summer photo system through your CampInTouch account. Our intention is not to try to be comprehensive and capture a photo of every camper and counselor every day, but to give you a general idea of what is going on at camp.

Online Photos

Daily photos will be uploaded each morning by lunchtime, reflecting photos taken the day before.

When you access the photo system within CampInTouch, you’ll notice the organization of photo albums. You’ll also see a season selector at the top of the screen, which gives you easy access to camp memories from years past.

Swipe or use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate through an album. Selecting a photo gives you a much larger view of that image, and from there, you can use the gray and white button (next to the yellow shopping cart button) for a menu of options including downloading of the photo to your computer. Use the shopping cart to order physical prints and photo gifts. The “star” icon in the upper left corner of the photo is a quick way to select favorites to save for later viewing, downloading, or ordering.
