But just when you think the day would start winding down… we announce Evening Program after dinner! Last night’s was the camp classic “Wild Wild West!”

Cabins are split into 4 teams: Outlaws, Raiders, Cowboys, and Marshals. The whole main area of camp is the “game map”, and the object of this game is to get the most points for your team. This can be done by swiping flag belts from opposing team members, or by finding gold or other valuable items around camp.

Flag belts were each worth 25 points, but these were the valuable hidden items that boys could also find during the game:

  • There is a missing Pony Express Letter- If you can get the letter back to the bank at the Grassy Knoll, your team gets 400 pts.

  • There are five missing Sarsaparilla Bottles- If you find a blue bottle and get it to the Bank at the Grassy Knoll, your team gets 400 pts. If you find the rare golden bottle and get it to the Bank, your team gets 800 pts.

  • Old Jim Smith’s Golden Clock- Old Jim has lost his clock again! Help get him back on time by turning his clock in to the Bank for 600 pts.

  • Calamity Jane’s Can of Peculiarities- Calamity Jane is the sharpest shot in the west, and also the keeper of interesting odds and ends. Bring her Can of Peculiarities back to the Bank for 600 pts.

  • Bill Hickok’s Rifle Stock- Hidden on the map is the rifle stock of long dead frontier legend, Wild Bill. Return it to the bank at the Grassy Knoll for 750 pts. for your team.

  • Gold Mine Shovels - There are red, green, gold, and blue-handled shovels hidden around camp. Bring in your own team’s shovel for 800 pts. or one of the other teams’ shovels for 600 pts.

All the boys (and staff!) got really into the game, and it was a fun way to end another big day at camp.
