Yates with David Whitehead (camper ’90-’92).

Things kicked off in Houston, where Yates was able to reconnect with many campers and families in Texas.

Houston, TX: November 18th

Jennie and Ed Miller hosted the big event at their beautiful home, and Yates is also grateful to Lowe (camper ‘17-’19, ‘21-’25) for assisting with the preparation.

In the photo on the right, David Whitehead (camper ’90-’92) was originally from Louisville, KY and now lives with his family in Sacramento, CA. He happened to be in Houston and took time out of his busy schedule to join us for the reunion. He has two sons that will be future campers to carry on the Whitehead tradition at FCC.

Pictured below on the left is Stirling Bomar (camper ’85-‘90). He enjoyed watching the new camp movie with his son, who is returning to camp for the 2025 summer.

In the center photo below, camp friends Nolan (camper ‘17-’19, ‘21-’25), John (camper ‘22-’25), and Owen (‘23-’25) got to catch up and see the new camp movie together.

Thank you Ellis Family for hosting us in Dallas!

Dallas, TX: November 19th

Yates traveled north from Houston to Dallas. Cheers to Ashley and Danny Ellis for welcoming families into their beautiful home!

In the photo below on the right, Yates got to catch up with Emily (staff ‘89-’94) and Rick Broad (staff ‘85-’94, ‘08), who met at camp and were counselors with Yates and Marisa in 1989. Their three boys, Charles, Bennett, and Lance have been campers for many years and we’re excited that Lance plans to be a counselor in 2025.

In the center photo below, Harrison K (camper ‘15-’19, ‘21, STEEL ’24), will be returning this summer as a part of the DASH team. Patton V (camper ‘16-’19, ‘21-’25) will be returning this summer as a part of the FLINT program.

Bronxville, NY: November 20th

Next, Yates traveled to the Northeast where Christina and Will Skinner hosted the NY/CT area FCC Movies & Reunion at their wonderful home in Bronxville, NY. The boys were especially excited to receive the 2025 Trunk Sticker given to those who come to these events.

In the center photo below, camp friends Jackson B (camper ‘23-’25), Mitchell S (camper ‘22-’25), and Harrison B (camper ‘21-’25) enjoyed the opportunity to watch the new Falling Creek video. We remain excited that they all will be returning to camp this coming summer.

Great to catch up with alumnus Miles McEnery, who was a camper in the 80s.

In the photo above on the right, Marshall L (camper ‘17-’19, ‘21-’25) shows that he is now taller than his dad!

In the photo to the left, Yates was able to catch up with Miles McEnery. After being a camper himself in the 80s, Miles’ sons now continue his tradition at Falling Creek.

Thanks again to the Skinners and all the current FCC families who helped Yates explain to the new families attending why we love camp.

Blair, Yates, and Zach were in Cabin 20 (then Hilltop) together in 1987.

Alexandria, VA: November 21st

The final stop for the week was in Alexandria, VA where Ashlee and Jeff Morehouse hosted the Washington, DC area camp movie & reunion at their beautiful home.

In the photo to the right, Yates was surprised by two of his former campers, Blair Hines (camper ‘83 – ’90, staff ‘93) and Zach Wilks (camper ’87-‘89). Blair and Zach were in Yates’ Main Camp cabin (Hilltop, now Cabin 20) in 1987.

The photo on the right shows a couple generations of FCC – Hayes (camper ‘20-‘25 ), Matt Polak (camper ’90-’94), Yates, Blair Hines (camper ‘83-’90, staff ‘93), and Braxton (camper ’13-’16, ’18-’19).

Blair Hines was in Yates’ cabin in 1987 and went on many paddling adventures with Yates and the paddling staff then. When Blair became a counselor himself, Matt enjoyed going on trips with him and the paddling crew in the early 90’s.

In the photo below on the left, Parker S (camper ‘16-’19, ‘21-’25) reconnected with Pat Greenwood (staff ’13, ’16, ’21-’23). Pat teaches 7th grade Science at a local middle school and also coaches tennis, basketball, & lacrosse.

In the center photo below, we were thrilled Heather Moffatt (left, staff ’23-’25) and Mace Hood (camper ’12-’18, DASH ’22, staff ’23). Heather’s dad, Rex, was at FCC in ‘82, and Heather’s friend from school Mia is interested in being a counselor this summer.

In the photo below on the right, Walker (camper ‘22-’25) is excited for his brother Mason to join him at camp for the first time this summer.

The 2025 Trunk Sticker, given out at each Camp Reunion and Movie Show event!

It was a great mix of current FCC campers who had the opportunity to share with new families what they love about camp. Great to catch up with staff and alumni as well.

Stay tuned on our social media or the online Travel Calendar for reunion dates and locations in the future. How blessed we are to be a part of this amazing camp community!
