Missing the taste of camp cooking? In our new blog series we’ll share some favorite recipes that you can make at home! First up in time for the holidays, some sweet s’mores empanadas, a fun take on the classic campfire treat.
The holidays are the perfect time to bake something cozy indoors - but what if you’re missing the comforting taste of s’mores around the campfire? Try making S’mores Empanadas, with just 5 ingredients!
Yields 12 empanadas
4.) Stuff 3 mini marshmallows, ¼ sheet of graham cracker (crumbled), and ¼ of a Hershey Bar (broken into pieces) onto one half of the dough.
5.) Beat egg with 1 tablespoon of water.
6.) Brush the egg wash around the perimeter of the dough. Fold the dough in half to create a semi-circle. Pinch the edges with a fork to seal the empanada.
7.) Lay out empanadas on a greased baking sheet. Brush the top of each empanada with more egg wash.
8.) Bake until golden brown, about 18-20 minutes.
If you can’t find the Baking Empanada Dough, use the frying dough and skip the egg wash. Fill a heavy duty skillet or shallow pot with 1 inch of vegetable oil. Heat to 350 degrees and fry the empanada until golden brown, flipping once to cook both sides.
