As our June Summer Camp session comes to an end, we thought why not highlight some of our wonderful camp moments.

Summer Camp is when everyday’s an adventure waiting to be discovered, where the great outdoors becomes the greatest classroom.

That was truly reflected this June Summer Camp Session.

These past three weeks at camp flew by!

Closing Day

As the sun begins to rise over the mountains, we can sense a united feeling amongst the campers and counselors. A bittersweet moment, as we are all sad to see the boys go but grateful for the time they have spent with us.

Thank you for sharing your boys with us at camp this summer!

We spoke about how each boy is not going home alone, but they are going home with a little bit of Falling Creek with them. Matt Sloan spoke about how in every moment you share, there are treasures, and urged us to be present in each moment to acknowledge the treasures in them.

As we say goodbye to our boys of June Camp 2024, we know that they have grown and blossomed along the way. Each boy has learned something valuable that they will keep close with them, for the rest of their lives.

Gold versus Green

Throughout the session, we had Green versing Gold in many different challenges. It was a battle and both teams worked extremely hard. Unfortunately, only one team could win.

Before we announce the winner, let’s take a trip down memory lane and have a quick look at all the fun games we played.

We had Cabin Competitions, where the boys were tried and tested through a handful of games where they would compete against another cabin.

Capture the Flag, where campers and counselors got to run around, pulling flag belts and searching for their opponents flag.

Not quite Family Feud, but Cabin Feud instead? Our boys had the opportunity to participate in the Family Feud competitions mimicking the popular game show on television. It was loads of fun, while they boys guessed and named answers in different categories.

Everyone portrayed a valiant effort. After many games and competitions, we had one winner. It was the Gold Team that came out victorious.

Jumanji

Welcome to the Jungle! Of course, for our final Evening Program game, we had to go out with an absolute banger.

We played Jumanji, Falling Creek style! We had multiple teams, Yellow, Blue, Green, Red, Orange, White, Black, and Pink, and everyone wore flag belts. Each team was assigned another team as an official opponent, for example, Black could only pull Yellow’s belts.

There were different Levels, 1 up to Level 5. The objective of the game was to complete each level in a timely manner while avoiding your opponent. The levels consisted of retrieving objects and giving them to the home base, in exchange for a token. You were then able to roll the dice, if you rolled a combined score of 5, 6, or 8 you were able to pull your opponents belts scoring extra points. Campers and counselors ran all over camp, searching for treasures, hiding from their opponents and leveling up!

In the end, it was the Pink team that won.

Final Campfire

What better way to end the session, than with our traditional campfire ritual.

Our final campfire was a magical evening, where we sat together in unity, watched hilarious skits and sang songs. It was a beautiful moment, as we got to reflect on the past three weeks and reminisce about the memories we shared. The June campfire ends by the boys and counselors walking out of the campfire area by camp group and circling the upper lake near the Dining Hall. Once in place, we then closed by singing both Falling Creek’s version of “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” and finally “Taps”.
