Wild Wild West is a competitive all-camp game that involves each team member having a flag belt. Each color, blue, red, green, or yellow could only pull one other color’s belt. For example, red could pull blue while blue could pull green.
The game involves collecting as many flag belts for your team as possible. There were also hidden treasures all over camp that earned each team bonus points. The goal of the game is to pull as many belts as possible as well as to find as many treasures as you can.
The Blue Team was victorious and won the Wild Wild West Game.
We played an all-camp mini olympics game, where teams split up into Blue, Green, Gold and Red and raced to see who would win.
The Sack Race: This game involved every single camper and counselors’ participation. Everyone had to race hopping in a sack, from the group and around the cone, until every single member in your group had completed it.
Blindfolded Counselor Hunt: How well do you communicate with your counselor? Let’s test that with our blindfolded game. The counselors had to race to the cone and back with a camper on their backs. The campers must help guide the counselor, they may tug his ear or use voice commands. First counselor back on their team wins.
Bottle Flip Bonanza: Each team has to flip the bottle on the table to make it land on its bottom. After you attempt once, you go and tag another player to try. The team has to successfully flip the bottle 15 timed to reign victorious.
Tug of War: We had ‘bottle flip’, which tested some physics, now we have a tug of war battle to test physical strength. Each team held onto the rope and pulled until one team was the winner.
The Ultimate Challenge: “The final battle for supremacy in flag-pulling and Cabin Line dominance.” This game involved each member getting a flag belt and having fun pulling each other’s flags, scoring points for their team. It was chaotically fun.
After battling it out, it was the Gold Team that gained the victory!
Closing campfire is a long-lasting camp tradition that has gone on for decades. It allows us all to sit together in unity and share a connectedness that is fostered during the session.
We sing songs, watch funny skits, and listen to stories while we sit together and think back on the week that we shared.
Campfire is an opportunity to reflect on how the session went and what key takeaways we may have discovered. We shared some final thoughts on Honor and how we can carry these lessons with us in the future.
