Andrea Engstrom

My name is Andrea Engstrom
I’m from Hermantown, Minnesota
I spend most of my work time as a nurse, caring for children at the hospital where I specialize in pediatric critical care and oncology nursing. I also spend time in the local schools in my community working as a school nurse passing out medication to the students and helping them when they get hurt. In addition to my hospital role, I also dedicate a few weeks each summer working at various summer camps, providing care and support to kids in a more relaxed fun environment.
This is my first year on staff at Falling Creek
I’ll be a camp nurse
Every year while I was growing up, my dreams and ideas changed. Doctor, lawyer, scientist, nurse, forensic scientist, and teacher were all what I thought I wanted to be at one time. Being a nurse is the one that ended up sticking and is my true passion.
A food I could eat every day is strawberry blueberry salad- it’s so good!
A successful summer for me would have plenty of variety and new experiences for me along with basic routine. Meeting new people, building new friendships, and learning new skills is important to me. My goal is to do 3 new things every summer. I love to read, and that is a routine I try to incorporate weekly into my life.
