My name is John Wallace
I’m known as JR
I’m from Salem, VA
I am a junior at Washington and Lee University. I am majoring in Accounting with a minor is Business Analytics and Journalism.
I was a Falling Creek camper for 7 years (2012, 2015-2020).
This will be my 3rd year on staff at Falling Creek (2022-24).
I’ll be teaching paddling.

If I had my own late night talk show, my first guest would be Captain Jack Sparrow. Let’s be real, he should be hosting the talk show, not me.
My favorite holiday is any day it rains over 1” because the rivers will be plentiful.
If I could live anywhere in the world for a year, I would spend some quality time in Chile. There’s world-class kayaking, skiing, and surfing. What’s better than year-round adrenaline?
My favorite way to get in some exercise? If you consistently work hard, you don’t need exercise.
Fun Fact: Life is good.
I look forward to spreading my passion for paddling and changing the lives of those wanting to push themselves.

Working at camp is the best summer job for college students!

We’ve got outdoor adventure jobs (backpacking, mountain biking, paddling, & rock climbing), lots of sports jobs (basketball, pickleball, soccer, tennis, etc.), classic camp jobs (archery, horseback riding, riflery, fishing & more), plus arts jobs (arts & crafts, blacksmithing, ceramics, woodworking…), plus nursing jobs, facilities, paid internships, and more!
