Manuel Muñoz

  • My name is Jose Manuel Muñoz Pai
  • I’m known as Manuel
  • I’m from Colombia
  • I am currently in the sixth semester of the Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and English at the Universidad Colegio Mayor del Cauca.
  • This is my first year on staff at Falling Creek
  • I’m a member of the culinary team
  • When I was younger, I always wanted to learn English and travel to many countries. I didn’t think of it as a career, but I was really interested in the idea of communicating with people from different cultures. Now, as I’m learning English and getting the chance to teach it, I’ve realized that I really enjoy helping others learn as well. So, although my original dream was to travel and experience the world, now I also want to be an English teacher, helping others do the same and improving my language skills along the way and also travel.
  • What food would I be happy eating every day? I would be happy eating the food from home every day. My family prepares simple but delicious meals, and I really enjoy them. Although I love eating hamburgers, I wouldn’t have any problem eating most types of food. The daily meals I’d enjoy would be the comfort foods my parents make, like rice, beans, and chicken. They’re tasty and remind me of home, so I could happily eat them every day, but I’d also be open to trying new foods if necessary.
  • A successful summer for me would be one where I have fun and enjoy new experiences while improving my English. I would love to meet new people, make lasting friendships, and learn about different cultures. Spending time with the campers, helping them try new things, and seeing them grow and have fun would be amazing. A successful summer would also mean that I am happy and relaxed, feeling part of a positive and friendly community. I hope to create beautiful memories and improve my English skills along the way, so I can return home with a smile and more confidence.
