R.J. Bascom

  • My name is Rodney Bascom
  • I’m known as R.J.
  • I’m from all over the southern and eastern United States. Most recently I lived in Virginia and northwest Georgia.
  • This is my first year on staff at Falling Creek
  • I’m teaching chess and pickleball
  • I’m graduating from Covenant College May 11, 2025 with a degree in Biology (Health Science Concentration), and after camp I plan to move to Nashville for a 9-month professional development program and Christian leadership program.
  • If I could be friends with any character from a book or movie, I would choose Mr. Bingley from Pride and Prejudice.
  • What did I want to be when I was younger? When I was little I told my dad, “When I grow up, I want to be an adult!” (Now I want to be a Physical Therapist, but I don’t mind also being an adult).
  • A food I would be happy eating every day is Gourmet Hamburgers.
  • A fictional place I would like to visit is The Shire.
  • What would a successful summer look like for me? Genuinely and meaningfully improving the lives of everyone I interact with (on a daily basis or just an occasional passing conversation). This summer at Falling Creek has so much potential for good, and I want to realize that potential!
