My name is Sunny
I’m from Chesterfield, Michigan
I am currently a nanny to very tiny humans! When I am not doing that, I’m out living life to the fullest—travelling the world, driving across the country, “building my lore” as one might say.
This is my 3rd year on staff at Falling Creek (’24-’26)
I’m teaching WEMA during the second half of the summer
My favorite magical animal is for sure ol’ Smokey the Bear. I just really appreciate his can-do attitude and his spirit for adventure. He’s really just out here empowering the leader in all of us. I know that, even on the days when we can’t light fires, there will always be a fire burning in Smokey’s heart.
A few years ago I checked off the only thing on my bucket list: I drove four hours to wade in a cranberry bog, lived my best Ocean Spray dreams, and then turned around and drove straight back home. 100% worth it.
My favorite sandwich? While a sandwich is a winning food no matter which way you slice it (triangles is the only correct answer), if I had to pick a favorite sandwich, mine would have to be: a grape Smucker’s Uncrustable, still slightly frozen, taken straight out of a cooler on a hot, sunny day. I don’t know what all those preservatives are actually preserving, but joy is certainly included.
This year I’m trying to make a daily habit out of being slightly cooler than I was the day before. Some days it’s easier than others, but I always try to stay on that grind. I’ve started saying things like, “I’m just really big into physical media,” and memorizing all the words to “DtMF”, so I think I’m making serious progress!
