Matthew Kornegay

  • My name is Matthew Kornegay
  • I grew up in Florida and now move frequently for minstry purposes. Most recently, I’ve lived in Mexico.
  • I do non-profit work and am preparing to do field linguistics work with minority languages.
  • This will be my 11th year on staff at Falling Creek (2013-2023). I’ll be working the Father/Son Weekends & Family Camp.
  • I’m happiest immersing myself in and understanding new people and cultures
  • If I could have dinner with anyone from history, I would choose Tychicus, the companion of Paul the Apostle
  • My favorite flavor of ice cream is Kilwin’s Tracks! A Falling Creek Camp staff night-off staple.
  • Something that “recharges my batteries” is getting lost (in a city or in the wilderness)
  • Fun Fact: One of my ancestors was a translator between the Powhatans and the Jamestown colony after John Smith sold him to Wahunsenacawh when he was 13 years old.
