Falling Creek Camp Movies and Reunion hosted by the Bissell Family in Charlotte on 10-8-12
Yates and Crom traveled to Charlotte on Monday to show the Falling Creek Camp Movies at Howard and Stephanie Bissell’s home. Their sons Ward, Burns, and Owen will be returning to camp this summer.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the many returning campers to tell the new families why they enjoy their camp experience. Also, they were happy to learn that the new FCC movie has 50% new movie clips in this years version. Everyone was pleased to receive their own exclusive 2013 edition of the FCC trunk sticker. These stickers are only available at a camp movie/reunion shows.
Brooks Scurry, a long-time FCC camper and counselor from Augusta, and James Robinson, also a long-time camper and counselor from Zirconia, NC, brought their boys to see the movies. Brooks is planning to bring his son to the Father/Son Weekend and Jemmy’s boys, Liam and Spencer are veteran campers. Both Brooks and Jemmy were campers and staff members when Yates and Goody were campers and on staff. In fact Jemmy was the C.I.T. in Yates cabin several times.
Jill Slinger, a top Riding instructor for two years on the FCC staff, took time away from her busy schedule as a senior student and athlete at Salem College. She drove down from Winston-Salem to offer her support. Jill started the horeseback riding team at Salem and they are competing and doing well with the big college teams now. Way to go Jill!
Eric Osterhus, a staff member in 2008 and 2009, graduated from Wingate a few years ago and has recently moved from being an Assistant Director of Admissions there to now being on the Wingate Endowment Fund team. Thanks to both of these star FCC staff members for coming to see us.
Many thanks to the Bissell’s for hosting such a large camp movies and reunion in their beautiful home!
