The Douglas Fir Framing Going into place on the Falling Creek Camp Gym 10-25-13
The large Douglas Fir timbers are now being carefully put into place with a massive crane. These large pieces serve as a beefy frame work for the roof over the gym floor. Additionally, you will notice the 12-14” diameter locust logs that will support the shed roof over the 12 foot wrap-around porch and new performance stage at one end of the building. For the veteran campers and families, the new Gym is located on the site of “Copeland’s court”, adjacent to the upper parking lot, and it looks over the upper lake from behind the high wire/rope swing towers.

The lower level is being prepped for the installation of an artificial turf field (40’ wide x 96’ long) with an 8 foot wrap-around wall to allow for fun activities such as “indoor” soccer, lacrosse, ultimate, flag football, dodge ball, etc.
The project is on schedule to be completed and ready for action in the 2014 summer.
