Happy Wednesday Morning!

Monday Highlights:

Evening Program - We played BINGO and there were dress-up and dance contests as a part of the program. It was the perfect way to spend a rainy evening, and the boys really went all-out with their outfits.

Progressions Campers have been finishing up progressions and projects during this final week - for example, Grayton K. achieved Warrior in Sailing, the highest level!

Trips that returned Monday:

  • Lower Green River Paddling - this is the quintessential river trip for any paddler looking to master the basics, and this time Director Frank Tindall joined the fun in a solo canoe!
  • Upper Green River Paddling - for more challenging rapids and bigger water, some paddlers took a day trip to part of the upper Green River, which was extra exciting with all the recent rain (more photos of this later in the blog!)
  • Rock climbing took a day trip to Pisgah National Forest, and while they weren’t able to climb due to the rain, they got to explore the Cradle of Forestry instead! They were able to visit sites like the one-room schoolhouse and train there, and see the birthplace of forestry in America.
  • Dupont State Forest biking - there hasn’t been enough rain to saturate or cause damage to the trails yet, so the mountain bikers were able to head to Dupont for a day trip on the fun and flowy trails there.

Line Campfires to finish the day on Tuesday

Tuesday Highlights:

Evening Program - Line Campfires!

We talked about Cabin Line Campfires previously in this blog, and yesterday night we were able to have Line Campfires again. Though the rain kept us from our original campfire areas, there was still plenty of good conversation and reflection on the session together in the rain locations.

The recent rain can’t dampen our spirits - in fact, the paddlers, fishermen, and waterfall hikers have been especially happy to have the rain. It helps with fishing, makes the rivers run stronger, and makes the waterfalls look more impressive!

Pictured below are…

  • day trips to both the Upper and Lower sections of the Green River
  • trout fishing here at camp in the Green River Flats
  • day hiking in Dupont State Forest to admire Triple, High, and Hooker Falls

Today, we’ll have the final trips return from their adventures off-property. We’re looking forward to sharing their photos and stories with you soon!
