Candlelight, Campfire, and a Session to Remember

SEE YOU SOON, JUNE CAMPERS!

It’s hard to believe pickup day is here—but we’re ready to see you and share your boys’ stories from the past three weeks.

Afternoon Program: Wild Wild West

After lunch and a restful hour back in cabins preparing for home, campers headed out for one final showdown: Wild Wild West—the last event of the Green vs. Gold competition.

Though the weather threatened to derail plans, the program staff pivoted quickly and pulled off the entire event just in time. The skies held, and camp came alive with the energy of this camp-wide game.

In Wild Wild West, each camper wore a flag belt, and teams could only pull flags from one specific opposing color. Scattered across camp were hidden treasures—some worth big points—that had to be collected and protected. It was fast-paced, strategic, and filled with wild surprises.

In a dramatic final twist, Gold came from behind to defeat Green, winning the month-long competition in an unexpected upset. Cheers echoed throughout camp as teammates sprinted, strategized, and celebrated together.

There couldn’t have been a more exciting way to cap off this spirited rivalry—and the whole session.

Final Dinner: Sweet Ending

Before lights out, the Dining Hall buzzed with energy—and the smell of a favorite camp meal: creamy chicken alfredo served alongside fresh vegetables and garlic bread. But the true highlight? A s’mores-inspired pie with a graham cracker crust, rich chocolate filling, and toasted marshmallows melted across the top.

That pie was so good—everyone was asking for seconds or thirds!

CANDLELIGHT CAMPFIRE We closed the night with Candlelight Campfire—one of the most beloved traditions at Falling Creek. After placing rocks on the Ebenezer Wall, each boy lit his candle and walked in silence to circle the lake.

The glow on the water. The stillness. The chorus of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” and “Taps.”

These are moments that stay with boys long after they leave camp.

THIS MORNING

Even with trunks packed and goodbyes ahead, today started like any other—with a warm breakfast, cabin cleanup, and time together. Some boys are counting the hours until they’re home. Others wish they had just one more week.

Either way, we hope they’ll come home a little taller, a little stronger, and full of stories to share.

THANK YOU

Thank you for sharing your sons with us. They’ve each added something unique to this session, and we’re better because of it.

We’ll see you soon—and until then, safe travels down the mountain.
