Welcome Junior Campers!

Junior Camp is here! We are so happy to see you!

Junior Camp is here

We have been looking forward to this week all summer and Junior Camp is finally here.

This session is a perfect “sampler plate” of camp life with 17 activities, Free Choice periods, a Cabin Overnight, and big Evening Programs.

Our theme of the week is Courage. It is the kind you see when you try something new, make a new friend, or take a leap off the diving board. We will be talking about it and living it all week, in small cabin moments and in big adventures.

What happened after drop-off?

Once you waved goodbye and headed back down the mountain, the boys got to work settling into their cabins. Counselors helped unpack trunks, introduce cabin mates, and start games around camp like soccer on the turf and Warrior Ball in the pit.

Lines went on a camp tour and the boys learned about camp resources, safety procedures, and how our theme of Courage will guide the week.

Afternoon rotations

After our traditional Sunday lunch of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, and warm rolls, cabins rotated through:

  • Fun icebreaker games
  • Health checks with the medical team
  • Cabin photos
  • A quick swim check and life jacket orientation
  • Dining Hall procedures for mealtimes

Then it was time for the first activity period of the week. Junior Campers jumped into camp classics like archery, pickleball, rockclimbing, horseback, blacksmithing, riflery, woodshop, and more.

Evening fun

After dinner we had our first Evening Program: the Sorrel Line played DragonTales on the turf field, Tsuga played Dodgeball in the Thunderdungeon, Robinia cut loose with a dock party at the lake and Betula occupied all eight tennis courts with a massive game of multiball. Each activity filled camp and the lake with cheering, laughter, and a few splashes.

We wrapped up the night with milk and cookies in the Dining Hall, then headed back to cabins for Evening Embers. This is when cabins slow down, share stories, and talk about what they are most excited for tomorrow.

About the blog this week

Each morning you can expect a new post here. Sometimes it will be a look back at the previous day. Other times it might be a story about camp life or a moment that connects to our theme of the week.

Our goal is not to capture every moment but to give you a glimpse of the joy, growth, and fun happening at Falling Creek.

Daily photos will be uploaded by lunchtime, showing moments from the day before. You can find them in your CampInTouch account. You can also follow along on Instagram (@fallingcreek) and Facebook for more snapshots of the week.

Looking ahead

We are so glad you have trusted us with your sons for this exciting week. Friday will be here before we know it, so we are ready to fill every day with courage, adventure, and friendship.
