Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July from Falling Creek!

For 58 summers, campers have celebrated the Fourth of July here in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Every generation remembers the day a little differently. Some remember the games. Others remember cooling off in the river, sharing meals with their cabin, or watching fireworks with friends. Ask a returning camper about the Fourth of July at Falling Creek, and chances are he’ll have a story to tell.

This year is especially meaningful as our country celebrates 250 years of independence. Today, another generation of campers is adding its own memories to a tradition that’s been part of Falling Creek for nearly six decades.

We thought today would be the perfect time to look back through the archives and celebrate some of those moments. While today’s campers are making memories of their own, here’s a glimpse of Fourths of July gone by at Falling Creek.

Happy Independence Day from all of us at Falling Creek Camp!

A Walk Down Memory Lane

From the founding summer in 1969 to today, every generation of campers has added another chapter to the Falling Creek story.
