Alexander Carroll

  • My name is Alexander Ranulph Carroll
  • I’m known as Alexander
  • I’m from Kernow/Cornwall and Devon, UK.
  • I am currently working in NSW, Australia leading MTB activities for a wonderful organisation called the Lands Edge Foundation, and I can also be found guiding Amazing Race style adventures for school children around Sydney.
  • This is my second year on staff at Falling Creek (’23-’24)
  • I’ll be teaching mountain biking
  • If I had my own late night talk show, the first guest I would invite on would be Björk or Sir Ranulph Fiennes. I would also ask them out for dinner and maybe propose we all get an apartment together. Björk being an incredible inspiration towards art and culture and how it can be perceived, and Sir Ranulph Fiennes as he is the man I am named after and an inspiration in travel and adventure.
  • I have cycled the River Danube from Munich, Germany to Vienna, Austria and I have also canoed the River Dordogne in France. Both adventures taught me a lot about alternative ways to travel and I am very grateful to those experiences.
  • If I could live anywhere in the world for a year I would choose Iceland. My favourite place to have ever visited and explored, it is a life goal of mine to return, live and work there.
  • My favorite way to get in some exercise? Being paid to guide MTB trails.
  • Fun Fact: I have spent a few years studying and being involved in the Cornish Celtic revival and have produced research on Cornwall’s Celtic status in the UK. My Father performs in a Cornish Celtic choir that accompany the Gorsedh Kernow’s ceremonies. Kernow Bys Vyken!
  • I’m super stoked about returning as a senior adventure lead for MTB, looking forward to working within the adventure staff team and developing my leadership and managerial abilities.
