- My name is Emily
- I’m from Fairfax Station, VA
- I’m currently a Sophomore at Virginia Tech, studying Elementary Education (Bachelor of Elementary Education (PK-6)).
- This is my first year on staff at Falling Creek
- I’m teaching F.A.R.M. and Nature
- My favorite magical creature is a fairy. A close second would be a dragon or mermaid!
- This past semester, I went for my first solo hike in the snow up to a point in southwestern Virginia called Bald Knob! I had never hiked alone (in the dark) before, so I was a little intimidated. This being said, I decided to be brave and give it a go! I had made the decision to go hiking at the very last minute and none of my friends were able to join, so I packed my bag and started off. I was able to see the most amazing snowy sunset, admire the constellations, and see a family of deer. I had a fantastic time!
- My favorite sandwich? I am actually not a huge fan of sandwiches, but I love hamburgers and enjoy eating grilled cheese with a good tomato soup. Hamburgers remind me of July Fourth, which I usually spend with all of my extended family, whom I love, and grilled cheese is simply a childhood favorite of mine.
- The best present I’ve ever received was a graduation gift from my high school crew coach, which was a very nice leather-bound journal. Prior to receiving the journal, I had always wanted a leather journal but had never told anybody. When I opened the present, I was at a loss for words because I felt like my coach had really seen me as a person and cared about me.
