My name is Liandri
I’m from South Africa
I am currently expanding my knowledge in fields that interest me, such as climbing (shadowing Tony Lourens in Montagu) and horse riding (furthering my horses’ training and taking people on trail rides). I also guide hiking tours in Montagu.
This is my first year on staff at Falling Creek

My favorite mythical or magical creature is a powerful dragon. The freedom to fly over the world without effort, but with a breathing giant under your seat, your protector and companion. The bond you could have with such a beast, the trust and loyalty must be incredible.
Something I’m currently trying to make a habit is listening to people through giraffe ears. It is to understand that every insult is just an unmet need. And when you listen with giraffe ears, you will never hear a demand or insult again, but only unmet needs. It is a powerful skill and takes practice.
What’s the best present I’ve ever received? The best present would be a physical gift, but given the support and love from my family, and for the sake of the question, I will say that the best gift would be the chance to do Expedition Gap Year. This program has changed my life and opened many doors. I met great people, made unbreakable bonds and connections, learned a ton of skills (hard and soft skills), and great opportunities arose (FFC in the States, a chance to travel, etc.).
