On the overnights, boys and their counselors are able to hike out to a spot on property, prepare dinner there around a campfire, and enjoy the camping experience together. Food cooked outside just tastes better! As Yates says, “the camaraderie of 8 boys and 2 counselors sitting around a fire, enjoying a meal, eating smores, and telling stories - it’s hard to beat.”
3.) While the chicken cooks, slice the bell peppers and onions into strips. Then remove the chicken and add a little more oil to your skillet.
4.) Sear the peppers and onions in the skillet, and remove when cooked to your liking.
Boys who become interested in cooking at a young age will become adults who cook!
Cooking is an important life skill for everyone. It can help teach self-sufficiency, strengthen relationships, boost self-confidence, and the best part is that you end up with something delicious that brings back memories of camp!
