Along with helping the facility management team and maintaining camp’s trails, Zeb is our full time F.A.R.M. program manager. He cares for camp’s flock of hens and 2 American Guinea Hogs (Wilma and Marvin) all year, as well as planning and maintaining the garden. During the summer, Zeb leads the daily activity periods at the F.A.R.M., and offers special signups for boys to help with projects. These include builiding shelters for the pigs, harvesting and cooking food from the garden, or even baking in our handmade pizza oven.
Zeb also helps coordinate staff contracts during our hiring process, manages our online training modules, and ensures that staff get their forms in on time before the summer begins.
Zeb has a masters degree in Appalachian Studies with a focus on sustainability in Appalachia, and has previously worked in Pisgah National Forest as an environmental educator for the Cradle of Forestry. He draws on those experiences and education when leading our “green camp” initiatives. When he’s not working at the F.A.R.M., you can find Zeb hitting the trails on his mountain bike!Email Zeb
